Lalah Hathaway New York Concert reviews
Keith Sweat was good but he arrived late!
Lalah Hathaway took the stage close to 10pm. There was a random person who opened up for the star but no one introduced the young man singing. The deejay kept us entertained, playing a variety of music and it was upbeat but we didn't come there to dance. She sounded excellent and sung very well. Standing around in 2 inch heels waiting for a 90's star who hadn't had a hit in a decade was becoming more of an annoyance - in short, my thrill was gone. We arrived on time, 8pm but Lalah Hathaway did not. When he finished singing which was about 9:00, still no Lalah Hathaway. She kept the crowd moving and grooving with her ballads and upbeat tempo songs. However, the crowd thinned out before the show was over. Once she got on stage, she was good. She was entertaining and fun. She received 3 stars instead of 4 because she was slow to the stage. My energy faded and it's hard to enjoy a show when you are tired.
